UK ENIC (previously called UK NARIC - National Recognition Information Centre) is part of the European Network of Information Centres and it's role is to provide information on qualifications and skills from abroad. Ecctis Ltd is the company that runs the UK ENIC service, as well as other international recognition services.
If you need to give evidence of the level of your degree and English language proficiency for the UK Home Office then you may need to apply for the Visas and Nationality Services provided by Ecctis Ltd. If your documentation is not already in English then you may need to provide certified translations of academic documents when you apply.

What are the Visas and Nationality Services?
The Visas and Nationality services are provided by Ecctis Ltd on behalf of the UK Home Office. These services allow Ecctis Ltd to give evidence of the level of your degree and English language proficiency. This will be useful if you are applying for one of the following visas: Family (including spouse), Settlement or Citizenship/Naturalisation, Tier 2, Skilled Worker, Skilled work: Health and Care, Start-up and Innovator or Minister of Religion.
There are three services available:
- Visas and Nationality (English proficiency)
- Visas and Nationality (PhD verification)
- Visas and Nationality (PhD verification with English proficiency).

How do you apply and what do you need?
To apply you first have to create an account, then you upload your documents and finally pay for the service. The documents required to apply will depend on the service but you likely need to upload photographs or scans of your final certificate(s), academic transcript(s) and potentially a medium of instruction letter. The cost ranges from £140 + VAT to £210 +VAT depending on the service.
